Customer Service and charging for returned equipment

Microsoft has charged my account for $533.93 for equipment that was returned to their Laredo TX facility 13 days before the charge. They and I have the Fed EX receipts but they say that it will take 7 days for their customer support office to get to the the expedited issue resolution, because of backlog, then another 72 hours for it to be put back into my account. With a 7 day backlog I would like to know how many people they did this to and why a company this big can't hire temporary help to resolve this horrendous abuse of their customers.
