Miscellaneous

A man called saying he worked for the US government and was responding to a computer search that I did about government grant money being available for various requests. When asked he said that he worked for US Financial Resources. He said that I needed to send them $3.87 to get the process started and this would allow me to get online under my own name to fill out the forms necessary to request receiving this money. I then asked him for his government ID # and he said that he didn't have it, that his boss did. Knowing that the govt. ID # is imprinted on your brain when you work for the govt., I definitely knew that this was a scam. When he asked for a credit card I told him that I would send a check. He stated that they did not take checks only credit cards and I asked why not. I then said, fine, give my a website that I can look into what he was telling me about and he just kept asking for a credit card. I told him that I didn't have one, to which he said that I could go to a store and get a paid card with only $4 on it. I said fine and asked when would be a good time to call back. He said he would call me back. We then ended the conversation. He called from 435-201-5617.
