Resort Booked Through Summer and Refund Refused as Expired

I purchased a Groupon for the resort in March, I called from the time or purchased and the resort is booked, and will be thru summer. I requested a refund from Groupon and they say that its expired and cannot issue a refund, even though the resort is booked.
