Miscellaneous

I received a call from an unknown number. I answered it and it was a male voice, sounding like someone from the Middle East. He said that I was pre-approved for a grant. He then wanted me information to put a one-time fee to access the application to finish the grant process. He then explained the family plan also. I did not think that this was a good idea, but I went with it anyway, going against my gut instincts. All the red flags were there. The first was the man's voice, even though I feel bad for setting a pre-judgement. Then the URL for the website is a.com and not. Gov. Edu, or.org, so I knew it wasn't safe from that. Finally, when he asked for my debit card information, I was really hesitant, but he assured that it was safe, so I unfortunately went along with it. I'm just glad I didn't give out my Social Security number. Whatever you do, do not give these people your money. When I got off the phone, I saw that they charged me way more than $3.87 like he said he would. I immediately called my bank and deactivated my card so that they couldn't get any more of my money.
