I received this scam call from this number. The person told me I would receive a $9k grant for paying my taxes on time. He claimed to be calling from the US Government. He gave me a claim number and phone number to call to receive my grant. I was immediately skeptical but wanted to hear his entire speech. He claims only 2000 "good" taxpayers were randomly selected for the grant. Needless to say, I did not call the number. I would guess that there is someone on the other end who is going to say I need to send them my bank info so they can wire the check. The US Gov. Would not need to call people to give away money. If they want to send me a check they can do so using the US MAIL accompanied by a form letter. Calling people and wiring money is expensive and needless if you are a legitimate company.
