On May 26th, I received a call from a lady (Eve Taylor) who stated she worked for First National Government Grant Benefits and I qualified for a grant in the amount of 12,500 based on my taxes.

I asked her several times how did I qualify for this program and she stated I was randomly picked by the government to receive the money and I would never have to pay the money back. She then stated if I wanted, I could even receive the money every year but, I would have to pay a fee of 299.95 per year if I wanted to get the money on a yearly basis.

She stated she already had my routing number of my bank and just needed to verify the bank's name and my checking account number. I refused and began to bombard Eve with questions.

Why do I have to give my account number over the phone? And tell me again how I qualify for the "grant"? I even told Eve that indeed this does sound like a scam. We stayed on the phone for at least thirty minutes.

She assured me this wasnt a scam and in 2 business days a 100 dollars of the money would be put into my account to verify the information I gave was correct, and then in about 3 weeks I would receive the lump sum of 12,500 in the mail in the form of check.

After I gave my information to Eve and the call ended, I began to think when is the last time the Government gave my anything? Then, indeed I did find out it's a scam so, dont do what I did!
