So i get this phone call on tuesday, august 30 telling me that i have been randomly selected to recieve a $7,000 grant that i dont have to pay back or anything just send $200.00 to a charity in india for a processing fee so i sent it they immediately wanted the mtcn number for confirmation then i get a call from the'us federal bank' asking for my routing and account numbers to send me the money but would have to pay sales taxes on the money before i could get the 7,000 which would be 700 in us currency. So i sent it to the same person in delhi, delhi, india. It has been 3 days and i have yet to receive any money on top of which i keep calling the numbers back and they appear to be busy all day now. No ones answering the phone when i call from my phone but when i called the 202 621 0066 number from another phone they answer find out its me and hang up on me every time i mention the $7000 grant money. So now im out of $200 plus $10 to send it on top of half of the sales tax which is $350.00 plus $15 to send it (i told them i didn't have the whole 700 so he said they could only except half which i sent) which totals to $575.00 of my hard earned money. I asked over and over again was it a scam to get reassured that it wasnt because i was taking a chance giving this much money to get more in return. I told them i was giving up my rent money to receive this 'grant money. Please help me i need my money back as soon as possible. Don't know what to do at this point. I just feel really stupid. How could someone do that. I hope these people get found out by the real federal government and blown away for messing up innocent peoples lives such as myself.
