I was a Kindle customer and had a collection of books totaling about $300. I had enough of their crap when my reader broke and they refused to stand by their product and replace it even though it was just over a year old. The reader was about $100. They then had the audacity to tell me via their customer support that my books would work on any other readers if I were to go with another company when I bought another reader. I bought a Kobo and when my books wouldn't work with it I then emailed them and was told the books from Kindle wouldn't work after all. Apparently the books you buy from Kindle only work on Kindle readers, they keep it all locked down. It would have been nice to know that beforehand!

What a nightmare. Not only will they keep their products locked down but apparently their customer support is so dull they don't know what's what and will tell you things that aren't even true. Lesson learned the hard way I suppose. Stay away!
