I received a bill prior to the above date for almost $500. I only had phone and internet with Centurylink and very rarely used my home phone. I only had it because at the time I got it, I was told that it was required for internet. I questioned the bill and was given what I thought was a pretty legitimate response so I set up a payment plan. This was in by January I had almost paid it out. The balance was gone by March.in May, I received another bill in the amount of $521 and some change. I was furious because internet could not cost that much and as I stated we didn't use the house phone at all. I called and the customer service rep. Was nice but didn't understand a lot of what was on the bill. I then spoke with someone else who told me that the coupon I was using had expired and I was being charged regular price, I was not aware of ANY coupons, so I began to question and he said it was easy he could put another coupon in. I asked him if there was a credit that could be applied and he gave me a supervisor who became aggravated with my questions and told me that there was nothing to be done on the account, and when I asked to speak to her supervisor she said she was noting the account and that there was no one above her. I hung up and immediately called back and spoke with Christy a CSR who then went through the account and noticed that something was wrong, when we finished going over the accounts, she came up with me only owing around $200 which was better than $500, but she said she had to have a supervisor to complete the adjustment, the supervisor got on the phone and said she had to review the notes on the account and after reading the notes she said "Ma'am you owe $521 and some change and there is nothing we can do about that, pay your bills and pay them on time." I then asked her how a representative from there could take the time and review the account and come up with something other than what they are saying, and she said "She is wrong and again there is nothing we can do for you." So I told her to turn off the services and that I was not going to pay that ridiculous amount, and she said "Well if you don't pay by the 21st, it will be disconnected." She then hung up the phone. I did not try to call back again, but since have received phone calls from a collection agency who again asked me "Why would Century Link make up this amount, " because I told them that the amount was incorrect. I have tried to contact Century Link in the present, but they are wanting to charge me for a copy of my previous bills ($4 a page) which is ridiculous.
