I would do ANYTHING to get away from Comcast. Unfortunately it's the only cable service available where I live. 1) Gouging rates: I am paying more in DC than I pay for the same service from another provider in Manhattan! 2. The service is terrible. They set an appointment, made me sit at home for several hours, then did a no show. No call, no nothing. (I am still trying to get that $20 they offer on TV if they're late for a service call.) 3) My internet doesn't work 50% of the time. When i call, they apologize, acknowlege that signal is failing, then schedule a service call a few days later. (see #2.) Including adjusting my bill. 4) I am told that a message of "not in service at this time" is received when my home phone is called.

I am begging Verizon/FIOS to come to my area.in the meanwhile, I suppose I must start documenting everything so that I can make a complaint to the DC Office of Cable Television, the FCC or some other regulatory agency. At a minimum, I will seek billing credits for service interruptions.
