Ripoff charges on international dial up usage

I subsrcribed to Earthlink service in the beginning of may for what they advertised as unlimited service for 29.99 per month. While traveling abroad i used their international dial up numbers in Mexico and Belgium. Upon my return i recieved a bill for $3,672.44. When I called the representative I was told that I have been charged for over 400 hours of international usage each month at undisclosed rate, which, even if it were true, doesn't amount to the sum they are charging me. The billing department is refusing to dismiss or even discuss the charges.
Its really totally unethical and i am planning to take them to a small claims court.
