Computer scan worse than an auto mechanic

My netbook's script was so tiny that I could not read it. Also in the corner it had a funny picture that I could not get rid of. Since I know little about fixing a computer I went to staples to see if they could fix it for a few dollars or if it was minor charge me nothing. The guy looked at it and said that it could be a virus but he wouldn't know until he did a 70 dollar dianostic on it and then it still might be another 129 to fix it. My computer is barely worth 200 bucks and to be given this price off the top of his head was ridiculous. I fiddled around with it and use the zoom button and got the script up to normal size and somehow got rid of the weird icon.

If I was as stupid as the associate thought I was, I would be out of at least 70 dollars for them to do nothing. I did not know I was at an auto mechanic shop. Not all of them pull this crap. I was going to eventually buy a better labtop at Staples, but now I wouldn't buy a pencil from them.
