Mastermind Software, Inc
Sold me a product that simply does work! This is a total ripoff! Internet

Internet & Web

In good faith I purchased this software over the internet approximately 9 months ago. It took roughly 2 weeks for the company to get the software key codes to me so I could at least install the software. I spoke with the owner Car several times over this period and he explained that they were going through some upgrades and revisions an so they had some delays. Once I finally did get the software installed I found that the emails provided were far from anything I could send to my clients. Spelling, grammar and context were all problems with the pre-written templates! So I spent nearly 2 weeks re-writing every letter even though i had purchased an upgrade that promised me that all the letters were pre-written for my brand! I then added my contacts as per the instructions and was ready to run. However the software continued to crash and I could not use it as the company had promised.

Day after day I would try and send letters and emails using the software and while some worked the system kept crashing. I was told i needed an upgrade and that it would be available soon. So I waited and kept calling. I did finally get what I think is an upgrade in an email and i tried to install it. However it asked me for install keys and the keys originally provided did not work. So I started calling and emailing the company again and I have never received anything back! Today I am left with a software that does not work after paying nearly $2000 and spending endless hours trying to get it to work. The company has a guarantee that if you use the software for a certain period of time and it does not pay for itself in new sales then they will give a full refund! Well, I have certainly tried and it seems that the way they get around that offer is to simply never answer the phone or reply back in any way. I also found another complaint the same as mine on usacomplaints.com - here is the link: http://usacomplaints.com/software/mastermind-software/mastermind-software-inc-master-2a6ej.htm. This complaint follows exactly the same pattern. I could not get the software to work so they said it needed upgrades. I had paid for upgrades for 1 full year and they would not upgrade my product. Ron Mock did tell me I should use another product that would require a much larger purchase in ACT and the mastermind ACT license. All in all it seems to be a pretty clear pattern with this group. They take your money, try to get you to keep spending money with up-sells and then they go in hiding once the program clearly does not work and a refund is requested.

As said by a past customer of mastermind "To sum it up, Mastermind has my hard earned money and I have software that does not do what it is supposed to do. I paid for support and upgrades I never received. Mr. Carl Thomson lied to me to get me to spend my money with him and he and his company did not keep the promises they made. I would warn anyone thinking about doing business with Mastermind Software to be very careful. These prople are not to be trusted."
