On June 9 I authorised $2.95 payment for what I thought was postage for imformation pertaining to a work at home. (I am disabled and am having no luck finding work) The company sent me a welcome email... With a web sight I could go to and a pass word. I did not enter the web sight because I thought I paid to $2.95 for shipping and would receive an information package in the postal mail. On June 17th I was billed $79.99 (debit card draft) for what I did not know I emailed the company to complain and only received an automated response... With no follow up. After two days called the phone number on the draft which was cancelled and another number was provided. I called the number and after 15 minutes of wait I was connected with a rep. If she provided her name I do not recall. I explained the situation and restated that I had not entered the sight they provided and should not have been billed for product or service I did not receive.
She ignored my request stating that in the fine print that after 7 days I would be billed 79.99 and that she could not refund my money. I reminded her that I had not entered the sight and that she could validate that she still refused and began reading her script again. I asked her if I could speak to some one else she said no I ask her again for a refund and she again said no. So on and so to no satisfaction. I went to my bank and they suggested I contest the charge. So I did so. They also suggested that I cancel my debit card so they could not bill me again. So I did so all in all I wasted 5-6 hours of my time and still have to contact the companies that are authorized to make monthly withdrawals. Most likely another hour or so wasted. There must be some way to out these companies and put the out of business.
