ICMwebsites
Debited my bank account without my authorization

Internet & Web

March 14 I reviewed an article about ICM Websites at http://www.dailynews7.com/jobs/internet-saving-economy.php about their Home Income System and was intrigued. For $2.97 one could review the trial offer for 3 days and if interested, purchase the decision pack.

I signed up to review the offer, then later in the day I checked my bank account as I do everyday. I was shocked to discover that my bank account had been debited for $149.95. Just to prove to you that I did not misunderstand the offer, here is part of the email I received after I agreed to the $2.97 trial offer: "Following your 3-day risk free trial period, you will be charged a one-time only purchase price of $149.95. Thereafter, you will only be billed a reduced fee of $4.95 for continuous website maintenance and hosting, each month until cancelled. To cancel anytime, please call customer support at 877-863-3088 or visit www.icmcancel.com." Notice that the email says, "Following your 3-day risk free trial period, " not before. I called the customer support center and asked the customer rep if I understood the offer correctly and he replied that, "yes, that is correct." I then asked him why ICM Websites had already debited my account for the full price of $149.95. He stated that it was because they wanted to make sure that I had the money in the bank after my 3-day trial had expired. I told him that was unacceptable and fraudulent. He says they will refund the $149.95, but we all know that it takes 2 or 3 times longer to receive a credit on an account than it does a debit. For some reason those debits hit your account instantaneously. I don't have any comment about the actual products that they offer because I didn't get that far. I guess my opinion is that if the products were that great, then there would be no need to be deceptive. I will follow-up to inform everyone of the outcome.
