Unauthorized Transaction of $24.95 - False Agree to Membership Claims Scam

I received a letter in the mail from 24ProtectPlus that said I agreed to a membership and they billed me $24.95. I called them back and spoke a woman named Tee on the phone. She was very rude and refused to address that I did not agree or sign up for any membership with them. She claims I clicked on something on the Internet and therefore agreed. Um, no? I asked to speak to a supervisor and at first she was rude and refused but eventually she just put me on hold for a long time. I canceled to prevent any future recurring charges.

I then called my credit card and logged it as an unauthorized transaction. They also canceled to prevent future recurring charges which can happen with these types of scams. Looking up "24ProtectPlus" on the web shows that plenty of people seem to have gotten charged with recurring charges and that they did not authorize being billed in the first place or agreeing to membership so this does appear to be a scam and, I would think, very illegal?

I filed a report with the FTC, the BBB and now also usacomplaints.com. Hopefully, some company will be able to look into the fraudulent business practices of 24ProtectPlus and get it stopped. I don't know if I'll get the $24.95 returned to me and sure it's not that much money, but I don't think it's wise to encourage this level of poor business practices from any company by not doing anything about it. It's just wrong to scam people and rip them off like this.
