Megagoods
Megagoods cost me over $700 plus my eBay and Paypal accounts!

Internet & Web

I had signed up to do drop shipping with megagoods. We had several great transactions. Then I decided to sell their cell phones. I am an honest seller and had been using both eBay and Paypal for years at this point. I had sold 2 phones. One of them sold for over $500 and the other around $200.00 Within days of the buyer recieving the item, both had contacted me to say the phones would not work. I relayed to them that they need to make sure the frequency of their network was compatible with the phone (via the FAQ's on megagoods site). They both checked into this an emailed me again saying that they are on a compatible frequency according to their carriers. I asked for their carrier information and the locations they were trying to use the phones. I personally called the 2 carriers and confirmed what they were telling me. I then contacted Megagoods and told them the entire issue. They would not allow me to return or exchange the phones... Standing by the fact that the customers were not in an area where the phone could be used due to the frequency requirements. The rep had me fax in the info I recieved from the carriers regarding the location in which the phones were being used and that they would review the information. During all this time, both buyers filed complaints with paypal saying I sold them defective merchandise and wanted their money back. A week had passed and I hadn't heard anything from megagoods. So I called and again explained the situation. They told me the buyers should have their phones turned in under the manufacturer's warranty as they were not able to refund or exchange the phones. I relayed this info to the buyers. One of the buyers refused and wanted his money back. The other checked into this and discovered that the warranty was void and had expired several months earlier. Paypal refunded the money to both the buyers and it gave me the negative balance in my paypal account. Every sale that was processed thru paypal would go directly to pay off the negative amount. Also both buyers left negative feedback which hurt my previously perfect transaction history. I had to give up eBay selling for awhile and pay off the $700 plus dollars to Paypal.
This occured about 2 years ago. I was unhappy to see that megagoods site is still up and running and they have not been shut down. Hopefully this report will help to keep others from being ripped off like I was.
