30 day trial - rip off - they charged my credit card within 2 hours

Free trial - no, not at all. My credit card was billed within 2 hours of selecting the "Free Trial"

If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

I was asked to evaluate the magic jack by customers. I went ahead and used my personal credit card and wanted to get the end user experience.

I got it all right. They first hit me $1, then $99, then reversed out both debits and finally within 2 hours hit me for the $19.95.

The free trial is a bust.

Based on ethics, I refused to demo the product to my customers as I did not want to become part of a wave of pissed-off customers.

I hope that Magic Jack reads this and changes the process.

The product may have its value but I refused to put my customers, friends and anyone else through the credit card experience that I had.

Read other folks regarding the pros and cons of the product.

I refuse to deal with a company that:

#1) never will speak with you directly (try to get a phone number!)

#2) They bill you ASAP and send the unit out so that you have to go through the return process

#3) The RMA or return process demands your credit card again and an order number that I never could find

#4) The online chat with customer service was a joke - they asked me my name 3 times... Were we seeing the same chat lines on the screen... Your name is part of the prompt

#5) The online customers service finally will "let you speak with my manager or supervisor" - I spent about an hour doing circles with these guys and finally said I am going to throw the unit away

#6) They want you to pay the return shipping, what part of free is that?

#7) Every step of the way was a waste of my time

Unless you want to burn $19.95

Just say no

I would be happy to evaluate the product if they "do what they say" and "say what they do".

Magic Jack - Change your "free Trial" policy & procedures and this product might be as great as sliced bread but is currently a very moldy piece bread.

Again, I read other reports on this site and had to give them a good kick in teeth.
