On January 3rd I registered and contracted to rent a CounterStrike 1.6 game server. 26 slots, Dedicated, and Public.

My server would not show up in the STEAM master server list, EVER. Ican crank up a HLDS server in my house on a crappy pc and it will show up on the master list in less than five minutes. I rented one from them for the bandwidth.

I used the only means they offered for support, a useless "Support Ticket System" and declared my problems which were.

Support Ticket / Copied and Pasted:

Server does not show up in master list. Change my port or ip or something, I have had no traffic at all!

To get your server listed you must edit your server. Cfg and set the sv_region setting to 255. You can edit the server. Cfg using ftp.

Now if you do not know anything about HLDS (Half Life Dedicated Server) it's plausible that they don't know whether to wind their wristwatch or defecate.

Its a BS answer, and of course it didn't fix the problem. I submitted a follow up ticket about it and it went unanswered. I then put in a PayPal dispute and asked for a refund, that ticket went unanswered.

It's like renting a car that you can't drive or renting a house you can't live in.

All I want to say is:

Do NOT do business with GameServers.com who are owned by Choopa.com
