Paid for domain cant get it back Rip-off

We are a small webdesign company located in Canada.
In March we registered the domain name www.lordofthewings.com with godaddy.com.

I feel silly now as we referred all our clients and register our own domains (about 200 yearly) through godaddy.

We received interest 2 weeks ago from a potential buyer for this particular domain and subsequently went to godaddys' website to update the info.

One piece of data on our contact info (email address) had changed since last year so they they refused to recognize us as the owners. (although all other info such as fax #, tech email, and phone number were verifiable) They asked for picture ID of the company owner (which we we sent 3 times) then they said they needed the original business registration... Then they said they didnt have the passport... Then they had it but it was illegible.

We spent time and money over many days and experienced nothing but frustration and anger dealing with condescending employees, false information, and revised policies.

We have consistently provided the company with sensitive information (passport etc) to prove our identity, they continue to ask for more documents and refuse to release the domain to its rightful owner.

We have followed every detail they have demanded of us. It has been over 10 days, we have wasted time and expense calling, faxing, and jumping through hoops for these people. Their justification: just because 1 piece of info on our contact sheet has changed the rest of our contact info (fax, phone, and tech email) must be fraudulent and refuse to provide our password.
We simply want access to the domain which we paid for, and obviously belongs to us.

We have lodged complaints with the BBB and the FTC, and now godaddy.com doesnt even return or acknowledge our e-mails.

I wonder how many people with desireable domains this has happened to and they just give up...

I wish this event did not happen as I had always found godaddys service to be excellent. However this absolute nightmare has shown us that perhaps the cheapest is not always the best.

Repeated e-mails to company president Bob Parsons have not solicited a response.
