Godaddy
Forced expiration of customers domain, and then auctions domain off

Internet & Web

We initiated a domain transfer from one of Godaddy's reseller accounts, to our GoDaddy account. During the process, the domain transfer got corrupted, and was sent to someone elses' account. We talked to GoDaddy and we managed to get the domain out of the wrong account, but then it got stuck in GoDaddys servers, saying that there was NO registrar in the database, and at the same time saying the domain was registered to GoDaddy, contradicting themselves in a single statement. We we're then instructed by GoDaddy to sumbit a change of address/ownership change request form, with copies of all our ID's and statements pertaining to the domain in order to get the domain ownership corrected.

Then we received a message that suddenly that domain has EXPIRED on 4/6, although it has been registered and the expiration date was NOT until 4/7, and now that the domain was expiring we would have to re-purchase it when it comes available under a back-order. And Oh, there are other people already back-ordering our domain, so then we will have to now go to auction to reclaim the domain. So here we are, waiting to bid against people for our own domain that GoDaddy said *WAS* going to help us get correctly transferred... And of course GoDaddy will profit from auctioning our domain.

Summary: They did not help us reclaim our domain as they said they would, instead opting to simply expire the domain, and leaving us hanging in the breeze.

BOTTOM LINE: You have several choices when it comes to ISPs. I recommend you choose ANOTHER.
