Hang up and harrassing phone calls - never pay by bank account on Amazon!

I made the mistake of trying to use my bank account to pay for a purchase on Amazon. What a huge mistake! The order went through just fine, so I didn't think there was a problem. Then a few months later. I started to get these harrassing phone calls at all hours of the day. I would pick up and no one was there. I tried having the phone company put a trace on the calls, but they could not. I was convinced it was an ex-boyfriend trying to track my whereabouts and was pretty creeped out. I stopped answering the phone. Then I got a bill in the mail from TRS Recovery Services, for $9.82 it looked a little bit fishy, but a few weeks later Amazon sent an email saying that this was legitimate and that my account would be placed on hold until I paid the bill and gave me a phone number. I am not comfortable giving out information like that over the phone and so I sent a payment to them, but this has all been quite an ordeal, and if I had just used a credit or debit or card to pay for my order, I could have been spared all this trouble.

I still think that TRS's harrassment is uncalled for. Why not speak to me? I am not psychic and don't know what you are calling about unless you tell me, or if you have issues talking to me then leave a message on my answering machine at least. What's the point of calling non stop, but never saying anything. Very weird. Extremely annoying.
