Delayed order that was a Christmas present for 15year old daughte

We made an order for a Spring Green laptop on 12-5 for our 15 year old daughters Christmas present. The laptop was to be delivered on 12-17.

We received an e-mail on 12-18 that our order would be delayed with no reason nor a date when it would be shipped. We called the number we were given on the e-mail and reached the India call center. They could only cancel our order but not give us a reason nor a date of when it could be shipped.

We were told the money would be released from the hold on our debit card with in 1 hour to 48 hours. It still has not been released and we are running out of time to be able to replace this Christmas gift and without the money put back on our card cannot afford to purchase another 1100.00 gift.

Between me and my husband we have spoken with 13 different people and have been told we will be given back out money sometime within the next 30 days but no guarantee as to when.

This to me is fraud. When I made the purchase they immediately removed the funds from my card. So when they were not able to fulfill their side of the arrangement then they should have immediately returned the funds to us.

The time frame is crucial due to it being the Christmas Holiday. Yet because we have dealt with India customer service rep.'s, they do not celebrate Christmas and do not seem to care whether our daughter's Christmas has been ruined or the stress it has caused our family, they seem very nonchalant about this whole ordeal.

Dell is a very large corporation with billions and billions of dollars. I do not see how it is not possible for them to give us our money back in a timely manner.

To our family Dell is Ebenezer Scrooge and declared Bah Humbug for our Christmas 2007. I wish they were there to see our daughters face when she has nothing from Santa under the tree. I am most assured that the people who run Dell have made sure that their families will have a most wonderful Christmas. Our fault is only we trusted Dell to deliver as they said they would. We will not make that mistake again.
