Used conputer registered to someone else

We were starting a business in Winter Park Colorado and as new entreprenuers, were looking for a point of sale system. My business partner received a flyer from EPOS and was contacted by Curt Hollis. Our contract stated full and no charge technical support. Several office programs, a Dell GX P3 Book PC (which I don't find listed anywhere in the Dell on line support system) and a life time guarantee on the installation.

Our system was purchased in 2005. This fall our system crashed. Curt would not respond to our phone calls. When I called Dell for support, the computer we had was registered to a university somewhere and not even registered to our business. When I called a tech to work on the machine, we discovered our computer was used (never disclosed to us by Curt) was a 2001 model that was not designed to even support the systems we had running on it, the hardware had not been secured inside, and of course we had no set up disks for any of the programs that we had purchased. Curt never responded to our calls.

So I am filing a police report on the incident—particularly because of the fact the computer was not registered to us. The Better Business Bureau will also be receiving a call. We have lost approximately $100 per day since we don't have use of our credit card machine. We will be paying several hundred dollars to get our old machine operational. We will need to purchase a new tower and of course we will have to purchase the programs we had installed, but never received disks for. This will add up to the thousands of dollars. And still no word from Mr. Hollis!!! This man is BAD NEWS!!!
