I took my pc into this "computer geek"'s office for a very minor problem with my pc. All he needed to do was download a few files from a link that I sent him, burn it to a CD, and upload it onto my pc.
Well, when I went to pick up the pc, he started mentioning some problems with it that I had never had or previously even heard of.
When I brought the pc home and plugged it in, I noticed that the power would turn on but the screen would remain blank. I called the "computer geek" for an explanation and he said "Don't you remember? You're computer's always been like that." Seriously.
I took it into a legitimate place for a diagnosis and they were able to pull my computer apart in less than a minute. All the screws had been taken out of my laptop. The computer tech told me that the pc had been scavenged and the motherboard was completely dead. Now I have to replace my defunct motherboard and that will be about $750.
I took my pc into this "computer geek"'s office because it was cheap and close by. Plus, it was such a simple problem I thought most people of average intelligence could fix it. Well, it turns out that this computer geek is a computer thief.
