Scummage better known as vonage ripoff

I started vonage service last november and decided to cancel their services today and found out i was under a 1 year contract, i thought vonage did not have contracts! I spoke to customer service, which seems to be in india, and was told that i have a 1year contract and to terminate the contract i could either pay vonage 39.95 or continue paying for service that i'm not getting until november and the termination would be free, what a bunch of bull@#?! &! Do not use this service unless you want to be scammed, they should rename themselves scummage!
