HP ripoff, poor service, bait and switch, lied to, broken computer sent, warranty no good

I always have had good service from HP through the years so off to HP shopping on the web. I search, study, consider, discard, consider again and finally decide on a laptop that will fit my needs for the moment.

You see I also have a dirty little secret, and since you are here, I'll reveal it only to you... I LOVE, ADORE, ENJOY playing silly games on my computers. Wonderlines, Jewel of Alantis, and yes... Even Aveyond. This notebook had the latest and greatest duo core processor, bunches and bunches of RAM and enough memory to accomodate what I wanted to download. I couldn't wait!

It arrives and I plug everything in, transfer some of my everyday files, then the big test comes. Re-download some of the games I haven't finished yet. Wonderlines was first. After getting it set up, I opened it and thought this would be a cinch finally on the latest and greatest computer.

The computer crashed 5 minutes later. So, off to the phone to call supprt to try and find out what happened here. I wasn't happy when I found out that HP has transferred all their service options overseas but, OK, deal with it. I tried my best, really I did but, there was a breakdown of communication. Between my "slight" hearing loss and the tech's accent, we didn't accomplish much.

This went on over the next 3 days with hold times up to an hour to even talk to a person overseas. I was NOT a happy camper. End result, HP says they will pick up the computer for repair. A week passes. I call the repair number and am told... The motherboard is bad. AND the bad news is, they can't get ahold of a replacement.

All right, lets examine this. I used the new and improved 4 times. It's broke now and needs repair. Wouldn't a normal person see where this is going? I bought a new working computer and received one with a bad motherboard.

Replace the computer!!!

But, no. Sadly, the new and improved one is in the repair dept and they will have to ship it back to me so they can then pick it up to send it to the shopping dept. Whatever...

The computer arrives back to me and now I'm stuck on the phone with HP shopping trying to set up an exchange. The CSR checks that the same model is in stock, gets her supervisor's OK for everything and the computer was picked up by Fedex at noon for replacement.

That was fine. Until 1PM when an email arrived from HP. "The model you requested is out of stock so your order has been cancelled."

I'm typing this as I'm STILL on hold for HP.
