Ripoff dishonest billing practices credit fraud

In December I purchased an Inspiron 1150 laptop from Dell for my son to use at school. I purchased it using my Dell Credit Card. At the time the laptop was purchased they were running a Christmas sepcial that allowed for no interest for one year.

When I received the first two bills I paid them immediately. It was only on receipt of the third bill that I realized I was being charged a 20 percent interest rate. Shame on me for not noticing it at the time of the first bill. Unfortunately I trusted Dell not to cheat their own customers.

I called Dell and spoke with "supervisor" after "supervisor" only to be told that I would have to pay the interest that had accrued or I would be turned over to a collection agency. At that point I gave up and paid the outstanding bill minus the interest and one late payment due to the time frame I agrued with them.

They did, in fact, turn me in to a collection agency which called continuously for over six months. They also continued to charge late fees on the late fees that were not paid plus fifty something dollars of interest. I entertained the collection agency by speaking with them each time they called.in fact I used up so much of their time that even if I had paid what they requested they would have to be in the hole for what they paid them.

To this day nothing material has been received from the cheats at Dell. No apologies, no comments except pay up. Last week I received a letter from a lawyer who has successfully sued Dell for their fradulent practices (my words, not theirs). I hope to see them restore my credit rating to its pre-Dell score of 850.

I have worked diligently to see that friends, family and businesses purchase other brands of computers. I don't want anyone else to have to experience this nonsense. It has worked. I have been successful in helping Dell lose many sales.

This thing is not fully resolved, however I expect it to be in the very near future. Buy anything but a Dell!
