They charged my credit card after being disconnected 3 months prior Cyber Space

Internet & Web

In April of my husband and I signed up for AOL. Something went "wrong" in the sign up phase and we were told by a representative at AOL to sign up for a new account and cancel the old one.

We did so and we were not satisfied with AOL. We had free trials on both accounts so we were not worried about being charged for them. Five days after setting up service, I called and disconnected service on both accounts. I was given a confirmation code and said I waould recieve a letter.

I never recieved my letter, however my accounts were not working and my credit card was not charged.

I recieve my billing statement for the month and there was a charge on it from AOL for $23.90. This was the card we maxed out to get to Wyoming so it went over by $. 77 and I was then charged a $30.00 over the limit fee.

I called them immediately and demanded that this charge and the over the limit charge be deposited into my credit card immediately.

I was told no, my service on one account was cancelled and the other was disconnected. I demanded to speak with a supervisor and I was given a supervisor.

Why were they both not cancelled? According to AOL's records, when I called to cancel service, I refused to verify my personal information. However I verified my information just fine with the other account.

I asked why I wasnt charged in May or June for AOL, they said they couldnt verify my billing information. I asked why I wasnt sent something to verify my billing information. "We don't send you things in the mail ma'am"

What about my confirmation number? According to AOL, it is only linked to one of the accounts. I now have to pay $53.90 to my credit card company for service that I did not have because the person I spoke with at AOL messed up and didn't want to admit it.

I then told the supervisor that I wanted to speak with HIS supervisor. He said that there is no one above him and that I was talking to the highest person.

They said I can dispute it with their lawyer.
