90 day trial rip-off

Internet & Web

I signed up for the "risk free" 90 day trial and my card was charged immediately. I called customer service and was told that if I cancelled AOL service before the 90 days were up that the charges would be refunded back to my card.

I called to cancel my membership and dealt with an automated service. After being told by the system that the membership was cancelled, I was told to hold for a representative. While waiting, the call was suddenly cut off.

Thinking that the membership was cancelled, due to what the system told me, I assumed that everything was alright. A week later, I looked at my credit card bill and found that I was charged the monthly fee again.

I called customer service and talked to a rep who told me that the service wasn't cancelled when I called because I never talked to an actual representative. I told her what the automated system told me but she still told me that my money would not be refunded. I asked to speak with her supervisor and he told me the same thing. I asked for his supervisor and he refused to give me their information. All he gave me was the address of the AOL complaints department.

Anyways I plan to contact my credit card company to dispute the charges.
