Giganews
Keeps billing my credit card - after numerous service cancellations!

Internet & Web

I signed up for Giganews to give it a try - and selected the $12.99 per month plan (which indicated I could cancel the service at any time). I then attempted to cancel the service. However, the Giganews website does not contain any "real" information where its customers can contact their billing department to cancel.instead, the company makes you "email" their billing department.

I emailed their billing department and cancelled the service. The next month however, they made an additional charge of $12.99 to my credit/bank card.

I again emailed them and cancelled the service. To my surprise, Giganews again charged $12.99 to my credit card the following month.

This went on for months. Finally - my bank said they only way to stop Giganews' automatic billings to my account - was to cancel my credit/bank card - so they could not kept charging the $12.99 per month to it. Although I have also disputed the charges made by Giganews - it is unclear whether I will ever get reimbursement of the funds they obtained from my account!

Needless to say - I recommend that all other consumers NOT sign up for this service as they have a significant billing issue - and appear to keep billing clients' accounts after cancellation of service!
