Printer Disabled When Color Cartridge Ran Out Despite New Black Cartridge

While in the middle of rushing to find a job (I had been laid off), and staying with my mother (I had no privacy, so I had to rush through everything), my hewlett packard printer decided to start playing games with me.

I had a brand new black ink cartridge, which is all one needs for a job resume. But my color ink cartridge ran out, and disabled my whole printer. (this had never happened before.)

I called for customer service, but since my printer was out of warranty, I got no help. Also, there is no online technical help for this. So I wasted the afternoon trying to figure out what was wrong, and all it was was a trick built into their system to get you to buy a new color ink cartridge. (this, when I was unemployed!)

I will never buy another hp printer and will tell everyone else not to.
