Ripoff overcharged stole money out of my account after cancellation

Internet & Web

I started the People PC service after my local provider (McLeod) transferred service over to them. The charge was only supposed to be $4.95 per month for the first 3 months, then 9.95 a month after.

I paid $20 up front because I like to be ahead on my bills and figured that I was good for at least the introductory period. A week later an additional $14.95 was automatically withdrawn from my checking account without any authorization on my part. I called People PC and they assured me they would "get it straightened out".

To add insult to injury, after two weeks my connection was cut off by People PC due to "lack of payment". I immediatly contacted People PC again to complain, and when no help or answer was given I cancelled my service. I did not even try to demand any money back because I know what a hassle it is (bad experience with ATT wireless).

Today (a month after the initial fiasco) I checked my bank balance only to find that they had taken ANOTHER $14.95 out of my account. I had to call the 800-number THREE times before I could actually talk to someone who could do anything (Susan R.), and she told me that it was a "risidual charge" and that they were "completely authorized" in taking it out of my account, but assured me that this would be the last time.

Regardless to say I will be keeping a close eye on my bank statements.

Please be warned: people pc is a scam and they will steal your money!!!
