I ordered an electronic photo album for my wife. When I received it, I was unable to load the driver on my Dell XP machine. I attempted this several times, reading the instructions over each time.

I sent an e-mail to their help desk, expecting someone with 1) technical knowledge, or 2) courteous enough to send me to a techy at Overstock.com or at the vendor. I requested that they hook me up with the vendor if they couldn't help.instead, I received a reply stating that I needed to read and follow the directions. I complied. Same results.

Once again, I sent an e-mail explaining the problem. I received a reply by some other "customer service" representative. This time, it was implied that I was stupid. All I needed to do is follow the directions!

Between the first and second e-mails (it took several days for the first reply), I found the manufacturer's name, then visited their website. The website wasn't very sophisticated, so it was very little help.

I decided to try loading this driver in my old Gateway Windows 98 machine. Bingo, it loaded and worked perfectly. Despite being advertised as compatible with XP, it apparently is not.

When I received the 2nd e-mail, I saw red. I responded by telling them exactly what I had done to solve the problem myself. I also let them know what I thought about their service and that I would never buy from them again.

Several days later, I received a very apologetic e-mail from some other person, asking me to reconsider my position. They didn't offer to do anything to keep me as a customer. So, as I promised, I took them out of my favorites and will never purchase from them again. I responded by stating that if they fired the rude CSR, then I might reconsider - never! I never received a reply.

I would suggest that everyone avoid them. The price on this item that good, but at Christmas time, I couldn't find it anywhere else. The product itself works fine, now. Overstock.com should be avoided by consumers who expect courteous service.
