Publication Company with renewal internet listing scam, $384.95, Another one out of Ripoff

I work in the marketing department of a car dealership in Virginia and I have encountered about 5 of the Publication scams that you have listed in the consumer complaints. We have never paid any of the bills and we never hear anything else about it after we inform them that we have reported them to the FTC.

All of the scams that I have dealt with in the past have a mailing address in Champlain, NY and a toll free number that you have to leave a message on and an area code of Canada when you get a call back. Original Alliance Publications has an area code of 954 (Florida), an address of Champlain, and voice mail for a receptionist.

I checked qualitypages.net for the listing that we are being charged for and it is not on there. The website did not have a listing for anything, in any category, in any state.

This company is a little bit smarter than the rest, with what they ask in the initial, recorded, phone call "are you authorized to make purchases?" They ask for parts or service managers when they call, and yes they are authorized to make purchases, parts and service purchases. Not marketing.

I have told the girl that called me back that I believe her company is a scam because my experience with the same kind of scams is telling me that I am right. I was unable to find this particular company name on the consumer complaints or FTC's website but I know that these companies change their names frequently to keep the scam going.

I hope that my report gets posted so others with invoices on their desks will know that they are not alone when they say that they are not paying it!
