They'll charge you a monthly subscription without telling you upfront

Found their site when I was searching on YouTube for an issue. Clicked on it, and when I asked how much the answer would cost, the "Pearl" chatbot told me it was a $5 refundable fee. I then waited online for the tech. The back and forth took almost an hour, mostly me waiting on a response - I assume the tech was helping many others. Since I was watching the chat and waiting on responses, I didn't check email. Later, when I checked, that's when I saw the email stating I had signed up for a $45/month service. And while I could cancel at any time, the first $45 was not refundable.

Another page told me if I cancelled within their 7-day trial period by going to the site and cancelling my membership, I could get it back. I did that, but "Pearl" reiterated that the $45 was not refundable, and just asking a question would restart my membership. On top of that, Pearl's chat box took up half the page, and there was no way to minimize it other than reloading the page. A name and picture of "Jaime Park" comes up as the customer support lead, but I'm not convinced the picture matches the name.

Bottom line, I wish I'd done a simple search instead of relying on Pearl's "$5 is all I would pay" explanation.
