My husbands' firm has poorly chosen CVS Caremark as their prescription provider for health insurance. Without any prior authorization, approval or credit card on file, CVS Caremark shipped me a prescription I did not need. Upon its arrival, I promptly contacted their 1-800 number to inform them this medication was not authorized and was not needed. The representative did not offer any suggestions and indicated this was my problem not his. I informed him I would be sending the medication back, which I did. After which, I received another bill for the returned medication. I called the number again and asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor informed me that I had sent the medication back without authorization and - as such - I would have make full payment. She informed me that I should have called when I received the shipment, asked for special authorization to return it and they would have made a one time exception. I told her I had immediately called and I had no idea that this process existed. How should I have known this if their customer service representative didnt mention this? She said this was my problem and now its too late. I need to pay the full amount. Apparently they do not need any prior authorization from you to send you medications in the mail and demand payment. Beware.
