CVS/Caremark Mail Order
Unauthorized Prescription Charges

Health & Medicine

Physician electronically prescribed 3 medications (let's call them A, B, and C) and I picked up the generic medication "A" for $7 at my local Walgreens Pharmacy. Went back to my doctor's office and requested that medications "B" and "C" be sent to CVS/Caremark. A couple days later I see two charges on my credit card. One for $12.76 and another for $100 from CVS Caremark. I went to their website and found that the $100 charge was for a 30-day supply of brand name medication "A." I had not received it in the mail yet, so I called CVS/Caremark to ask how to return it once it was received. I was informed that I could NOT return it, could NOT get a refund and could do NOTHING about it. I asked to speak with a manager and got the same answer. Seems they can charge me for medication I DID NOT AUTHORIZE to be billed for or to be sent to me because my doctor made a mistake and sent the prescription to them in error. They instructed I call the doctor's office "to try to work something out with them." I did so, but they cannot do anything about this issue.
