ZOLTON's SALON in North Scottsdale is a very pricy very SO-CALLED "upscale" hair salon that I have been going to for over 6 years and have sent many of my friends and family too. Basically I have chosen to keep going there even though its expensive because I usually had the same person and no problems and even though I could go somewhere cheaper it was worth it to know I could trust this place to do what I wanted.

Its important to know that in my entire time going to this salon, over 6 years, not once have I ever requested anything for free or even discounted. I have been a very loyal PAYING customer until this last spring. I went in to get my normal highlights and was not able to see either of the people I usually see and was told they had a great girl who was very good with coloring.

I made the appointment and asked for the same thing I ALWAYS get, highlights (not yellow but more white) and asked to have her cut the back of my hair a bit. This "great" colorist suggested that what I really should do is to lighten my base color and that would give me a better overall blond look and cut down on the need to highlight as often. Being that she is a colorist in a salon I have used for 6 years of course I took her advise.

What I came out with was almost all of my hair cut off and what was left was orange. I came back the next day to let them know and to try to get it fixed. They gave me a new person who then bleached all of my hair to try to under the first mistake, this only made it much worse and now I had BRIGHT ORANGE-YELLOW hair!

My third time back I was sent to a "specialist" who through numerous visits was able to get the orange out by darkening my entire hair and then she said over time we could weave back in the blond until I was back to normal.

During this visit she told me that the girl who messed up my hair had done it at least three times before me, and that after what happened to me they fired her! Well gee thanks for letting her continue to ruin peoples hair when she has done it before! I can't believe they let her keep working after more than once or even twice! Not only that but they SUGGESTED her to me!

Even though they did do these first corrections at no charge, as they should, when I went back on August 20The to get my next set of "blond highlights" in, I was given a different girl. I let her know my whole ORANGE HAIR HORROR STORY to which she was very sympathetic. She suggested to avoid damaging my hair more and to avoid the orange issue that I should also put in some brown low lights which would make the highlights more evident without more bleaching.

I had to payed for this visit $168 which would have been fine except that what for the first week looked okay, after the first week the "low lights" started turning... THAT'S RIGHT ORANGE! I contacted the salon again to let them know that once again and let them know that once again my hair had been turned orange. I was assured that they would take care of this and told they could get me in with no problem to fix it and that there would be no charge.

I went in today Sept 20 (only 4 weeks later) with my now chunky orange/blond/brown hair and after explaining to the stylist she said something about the cost of today's visit. I said oh no I was told I wasn't going to have to pay today since its to once again try to correct the orange color. She went to speak to the manager and after about 10 minutes came back and proceeded to tell me in front of all the people around, that they were done giving me "comps" and it was obvious I was someone trying to get free hair styles because of all the times I had been in over the last few months that I wasn't charged. I tried to explain again that that was because, they were fixing THEIR MISTAKE.

She said well I'm not doing this for free and my manager said you can't have anymore free fixes since you paid the last time. I said what does my paying last time have to do with your salon no fixing what they did? So to add insult to injury not only has the salon turned my hair orange TWICE and chopped all my hair off, but now I am being accused of being some cheapskate & just trying to get free stuff!

I couldn't believe it, at this point said I wanted to please speak to the manager and was told that I would have to speak to the owner who was in the salon at the time doing hair. I was told to wait up front and as soon as he was finished with the current client he would speak to me. I was left up front for an hour and 20 minutes, during which twice I went to the front to make sure he knew I was waiting. I was told he was aware of the situation and would speak to me as soon as he was done with this client.

He came out at 11:45 and looked at me then waived in his next client who was sitting next to me, I immediately went to the front and said wait isn't he going to speak to me now? The girl said oh well he has color on someone and needs to rinse their hair, I said no he doesn't he just took her back and I would like him to take the 2 minutes to come speak to me! She went back to ask him and he told her that he was too busy but could take my number.

I told her that I would be happy to go back and speak to him in front of all his stylists and guests or he could please just take the 2 minutes and see me now since he has already made me wait for over an hour out here. I was basically told he refused to speak to me. Even as I am writing this I can't believe he wouldn't just stop, take a couple of minutes and at least speak to me after he kept me waiting so long.

I can't believe that they would choose to treat a very long time loyal customer or really ANY CUSTOMER with such disregard. Not only that they won't fix their mistake or even reimburse me for the last visit so that I could go somewhere else to have it fixed, but that they would accuse me in front of other people of being some kind of gold digger look-in for a freebie! MY HAIR HAS ORANGE CHUNKS AND IS COMPLETELY CHOPPED OFF DUE TO THEIR MISTAKE!

In this economy any business should be grateful for longtime clients who not only come to spend money but also have sent others, if you make a mistake you fix it period.

Any feedback would be appreciated, I would love to know if others have had any similar experiences and I would also love to know what happened to the 3 others whose hair was ruined before mine!
