Tried to charge me for their mistake, then gave negative report to credit bureau. Rude!

Millenium Dental has mistakenly charged me $200.00 for missing an appointment. I notified them by telephone well in advance; however the lady that took my cancellation neglected to note my account. When I received the bill, I called to tell them about my cancellation; but they were argumentative and refused to make the correction. Since then, they have referred my account to collections and have reported this to Experian. The false negative report has reduced my credit score and they have refused to make the correction.

I complained through the BBB, but instead of taking responsibility, they made up 2 more missed appointments and said they should have charged me $900
. 00, but decided to charge only $200.00 as a courtesy. (Lucky me!)

I submitted my rebuttal asking them to provide proof of their claim, but they decided not to respond, which lowered their BBB rating. It just shows me that they don't really care about what consumers think about their business practices.

My husband was in the room when I called to cancel my appointment, but the lady that took my call, probably had other calls and failed to properly note my account.

That mistake on their part caused me to receive harrassing collection calls at my home and reduced my credit score. I managed to have their report removed from my credit file, but it took several letters. I have lost time with my family and feel that they have ripped me off. I hope this report will prevent other consumers from being a victim of their unlawful business practices.

I have since found a family densist that is very good to me and my family.
