When you first call for an eye exam apointment,
and you ask what it costs, they will tell you a fee,
for your eye exam, but when your glasses/contacts arrive
they will not tell you that you will be charged for the fitting -so then, if the good O.D. Makes a mistake in fitting, not only will you be charged for that time, but you will not have any lenses to wear - because she will take them away until you decide to pay for them. So you can't even see with a temporary set. (This was always a service provided by any other optomitrist).

Second, one of her sales people will hit you with a pitch
on a pair of lenses and frames for a great deal. But they don't tell you that the lenses you will get are not at all like the models you try on. So you feel somewhat mis-led. (Lord help you if you don't have a vivid imagination for that sort of thing!)

What they don't tell you is; that the lenses will, in fact, be much thicker, heavier, not at all like the models, and therefore, not sit on the frames like they were supposed to, oh, and they are "non-returnable" if you can't wear them or don't like them.

Then they will send the frames back to the manufacturer, and forward your account to collection if you do not want a set of frameless lenses. (slightly useless).

In all my years of having good personable optometrists, this is is depressing because they are finding new methods to force their hand into your pocket one way or another.

Enter "Rockaway Beach Optometry" with this knowledge, or more money at your disposal, and you may not mind it.
