Nabsa, naaus rip off! No refund yet!

Health & Medicine

I originally received a fax at my place of employment about this coverage. It sounded good and I was assured that it was medical coverage so I applied. They immediately took $424.00 from my checking account 3 weeks before my effective date of 12/01/07. I received the insurance packet well after my effective date and after reading through the packet, I realized the gentleman I spoke with initially had lied and that this was not medical coverage. I checked several doctors I could go to within a 20 mile radius who were suppose to be on this insurance and none of them were providers or contracted with this insurance.

After researching and calling around I finally went online to their website which by the way is no longer available on the internet. After going online, the website came up and on the main page at the bottom it stated that NAA Memberships are not available in the following states and it listed several states including Florida. I live in Central Florida.

At that time I emailed them from the website and received an email from a Mindy who told me to contact CBMA because they are now the administrator handling my account. I called the 800 number she gave me and was told the company had changed hands and that the girl I spoke with showed I had coverage. But, by then I just wanted to cancel so she gave me a cancellation fax number and I faxed my letter of cancellation. I never heard from anyone after that and on 12/24/07 another $299. Came out of my checking account. So I resent the cancellation letter to a totally different company now, NABSA who had taken over this account in January '08, to which I was never told about any of the changes.

At NABSA I have spoke with a Paula and a Jamael several times and each time they have assured me my refund's being sent and to date, 3/14, I've not received a dime. They said they would only go back to when they took over with the refund and that I needed to call NAAUS to get the original $424 that was taken from me. When I called NAAUS, I was told that I had enjoyed a whole month of coverage and that they refused to give me a refund. I was never able to use their coverage because no doctor would accept it in my area so I did not enjoy anything with their company.

I called once more today 3/14, and after holding for almost 1/2 hour, Jamael answered and at first he stated that my refund had been sent out and that it was just my bank that was holding it up. Then he said, the notes showed that my refund was being processed and that I should receive it within a week. I then asked him for an email address of where I could email a letter and have someone email me as to accurate information on when I could expect this refund. He put me on hold for 5 minutes and came back with an email that turned out to be a bogus email.

If I thought they were registed with the Insurance Commission, I would see about pursuing that avenue but I can just about bet they aren't registered with anything that legitimate.

I just want my $1,022.00 refund. That's all. If anyone can help it would be most appreciated.

God Bless
