GARDEN SPOT VILLAGE Provide horrible care to the elderly ripoff

They do not feed the residents of Laurelview their memory support unit often they tell them they are short on food the kitchen help just does not bring much food to the unit. Our family thinks to cut cost and because they know these people will forget they did not eat and have no one to complain for them. I think maybe also so they will not go to the bathroom as much at night they do not give them fluids.

Laurelview has only one caregiver on nights for 22 people who have alzheimers and all wear diapers. These people sit all night in their own waste because their is no help there to bathe and clean them. The one person on nights has to watch the door to keep other residents from escaping. There have been residents who have wandered away from this unit so they medicate them heavily as possible. Also they try to cover up mistakes the caregivers make on medications.

The caregivers are very unfriendly all over the facility but I know the pay scale there is very poor-probably because they have spent so much money on advertising and the building - the building is beautiful! But do not let yourself be fooled a pretty building does not equal quality care!

It seems the management are paid large salaries to push the place to sell it to the public. I see now it really is true if you have good pr people u can sell an understaffed junky facility. Our family member only has gotten slightly better treatment because we complain and visit more than most. But I feel bad for the rest! I notified the state dept of aging but they have not returned my calls yet.
