On 25Nov. 2011 (Black Friday) we went to the Vegreville Brick and seen a brown leather couch for a discounted price of $500.00 (regular approx. $1400). After I paid for it... The manager said it had to be out of the store in 24 hours. The winds outside were 120 Km that day and we were in town with a truck with a 5th wheel attachment and
were unable to come the next day. We stated that we were not comfortable taking it home with the winds and the 5th wheel attachment and asked if we could come the day after... He repeated that it had to be out of the store in 24 hours and he got us cardboard and rachits to tie it on and needless to say it landed on the pavement. He said he would send it back to the Brick for repairs. We checked back with him on 19 Dec. 2011 and he said he hadn't heard and that if it couldn't be fixed
we may possibly have to share the blame and split the loss. (He had another customer at the til when he said this)
He called 23 Dec. 2011 and said that it was irrepairable and unfortunately we are out $500.00. I reminded him that we were not wanting to take it under those weather conditions and he said ultimately you made the choice and he said that you should have come back the following week and bought it as it had been on the floor for about 6 months without anyone interested. This suggestion was not made before I had paid for the couch! After he got his money he was only interested in getting the couch and us out of his store. Considering the weather that day we felt that he could have allowed a 48 hour pickup. My son is building a house and will be needing alot of funiture and appliances unfortunately he will not be buying local or any BRICK store.
