Video games return complaint - Returns

Just bought a wii video game for 10$ rea rd, charlotte, NC My daughter changed her mind before even getting home. Went to return it. They said cannot return as is opened video game. But I didn't open. It was sold like that. They say it's a federal law not to return open video game. Spoke to manager they said can't do anything. Standard answer it shouldn't have been sold open to me. Nothi we can do. I said check cameras. She replied even if there is proof that we sold it open, there is nothing we an do. It's a federal LAW. Where is the law to protect the customer from the mistake made by the sales associate. Very disappointed by the staff, I was even willing to take store credit.

Tomorrow plan to go to another store and exchanging it with a wrapped game as I am allowed to exchange it. And then returning it back..
