On July 18 I ordered 2 recliners from JC Penney. Since the fabric color was a "special order" I was told delivery would take 5 - 7 weeks. Today August 15 I called customer service 800# just to see if a delivery date had been scheduled. I was told the order was missing a "cover number" and was cancelled on July 22. Cancelled? No one told me! I called the store and spoke to the sales associate who knew nothing about this. She said she would follow up and call me back. When she returned the call she said she spoke to someone at the warehouse. Seems a number was missing from the original order and they (warehouse) were supposed to email the store. Either they didn't email or the store never received the email. Since there was no further information they simply cancelled the order! If we wanted to proceed with the order it had to be resubmitted today with another 5 - 7 week wait. If I hadn't called today I would still be expecting my recliners to be delivered in 2 weeks — an order that didn't exist. Not good business, JC Penney.
