Foodstuff

Bought Taverna Spinach Pie, 2 pack in Costco. Baked one package. Lifted up flour crust top with fork and saw black hair in the crust. Was not my hair, was a straight black hair, could be of hispanic or Portuguese origin, most likely the nationality of factory workers in Boston. Called company, disinterested, right away said all you will get is your money back, not that I even asked! Said to return to Costco because sending back will not make a monetary difference.

Their website "state of the art" factory video shows workers with BARE hands touching, placing, pressing the phyllo dough, one with a thumb pressed into the dough. I guess this is the "care" they put into their products. Unfortunately, baking the product at 375 doesn't dissolve a hair, maybe it kills other germs that their food safety program overlooks.

I have the hair in dough, if chemical analysis required along with downloaded video of their factory workers making this product, if they take it down from their website.

Due to their lousy, unapologetic attitude, I'm sure they'll appreciate the negative publicity that forthcoming complaints to Costco, Amex and a YouTube posting of their video will accomplish.
