AT&T equipment isnurance is a total ripoff

I renewed my contract with AT&T, and bought an iPhone 3GS for $1.00. I have kept equipment insurance for many years, and when the phone got wet, I filed a claim. After forcing me to go through downloading web forms, getting them notarized, and then forcing me to call customer service, I was told that the deductible was $200.00!!! (Actually $199.00) That is more than the phone is worth! It is yesterday's technology, and I just got it because it was $1. The deductible on my car is not much more than this!
This is an absolute ripoff, and I am dropping this insurance immediately. I looked on ebay, and new iPhone 3's are less than they want me to pay as a "deductible"! New and in the box.
Folks, don't do it, and if you are in an AT&T store, and see someone starting to buy this damnable "equipment insurance", tell them loudly not to do it!
