ZionEyez initially stated that they needed $55,000 in order to create and deliver a pair of glasses that could be used to record what you are seeing. 2,000 people preorderd pairs at $150 each in June, expecting delivery by the end of the year. They raised over $300,000! The end of the year came and when with no glasses, and no update from ZionEyez as to why. After users got outraged and started a massive campaign to get information, Zion Eyez eventually sent an update stating that 7 times the original amount was not enough money to produce the glasses, so it was going to take an extra *year* for them to raise extra money — but don't worry, they claimed to not be blowing it on a tropical beach somewhere. Suspicions started rising when customers started finding Facebook updates from the founders of this company buying expensive jewelery, and taking extended vacations on tropical beaches and riding elephants.

This 'company' refuses to return calls or email from their pre-order customers. They occasionally release vague, unhelpful updates every few months, making outrageous claims like they are trying to cure blindness with their glasses. They even went so far as to release a survey asking for customer opinions on what features they should include — months and months after delivery was supposed to occur. This company very clearly has no intention of delivering, or communicating with backers.
