8 Stitches to Left Thumb—Cuisinart Refuses to Accept Responsibility - Cuisinart SmartStick (R) Handheld Blende

Electronics and household app.

Cuisinart already has a terrible reputation. I am about to throw another log onto that pile. I bought a brand-new SmartStick (R) Handheld Blender. I used it according to instructions to make a shake and also cleaned it according to instructions. Upon hand-washing as stated in the user manual, the unplugged blender blade snapped into my left thumb. I was taken to the emergency room and received 8 stitches. Cuisinart asked me to send them the blender for evaluation whereupon they would decide if I warranted reimbursement. I refused to give up this piece of evidence as they have an F-rating with the BBB (and many online complaints). Then they wrote and said they found me entirely at fault (without having seen the blender) because the blade is sharp. NO kidding it is sharp and it's especially damaging when it snaps for no reason, into someone's thumb! I asked for my medical bills to be paid for and a small amount for lost income. They have refused. Buyers beware!
